至戌亥则金气藏伏，形体已残，锻炼首饰，已成其状，藏之闺阁，无所施为，而金之功用毕，故曰庚戌辛亥钗钏金
Why the name: arriving at Xu and Hai the metal-qi hides away, the body and form already spent, the smithing of ornaments has taken its shape; stored in the women's chambers, with nothing left to do — and metal's usefulness is finished; hence Gengxu and Xinhai, Hairpin Gold.
钗钏金者，美容首饰，增光腻肌，偎红倚翠之珍，枕玉眠香之宝，此金藏之闺阁
Hairpin Gold: an ornament for a lovely face, a lustre added to smooth skin; a treasure that leans on red and green, a jewel that sleeps on jade among incense.
Xu and Hai close the cycle, and the derivation closes the metal sequence with them: 而金之功用毕, metal's usefulness is complete. Gold in the Sea began the sequence unusable because unformed; Hairpin Gold ends it unusable because finished.
藏之闺阁，无所施为 — stored in the inner chambers, with nothing to do. San Ming Tong Hui's practical reading follows the image exactly: 唯宜静水, it suits still water only, and 多见则泛, too much water and it is swamped. An ornament wants to be looked after, not used.
