The Ten Gods 十神
Wealth at matching polarity — explicitly 众人之财, everyone's money rather than one's own, and read as exposed rather than held.
| Term 十神 | 偏财 — Indirect Wealth (pian cai) |

何谓偏财?乃甲见戊、乙见己之例。非妻所带,乃众人之财也。切忌有姊妹兄弟分夺,柱无官星,祸患百出。
What is Indirect Wealth? It is the case of Jia meeting Wu, or Yi meeting Ji. It is not property a wife brought; it is the money of the many. Above all it must not be divided and seized by brothers and sisters — with no Officer star in the pillars, trouble breaks out a hundred ways.
偏财好出,亦不惧藏,唯怕分夺,及落空亡,有一于此,官将不成,财将不住。
Indirect Wealth is happy to come out and does not fear being hidden either; what it fears is only being divided and seized, or falling into the void. With one of these present, office will not come together and wealth will not stay.
众人之财 — the money of the many. The classical distinction between the two wealths is not size and not source; it is whose it is. Direct Wealth is the household's; Indirect Wealth is in circulation, and the same openness that lets it come to you lets it go elsewhere.
That is why 姊妹兄弟, siblings — which is to say the companion stars — appear in the definition itself rather than in the advice that follows. Money that is common property is by definition claimable by peers.
The chapter's own descriptive line is 主人慷慨,不甚吝财,与人有情而多诈 — open-handed, not tight with money, warm with people and much given to manoeuvre. We quote it as the text's characterisation of the structure, not as a verdict on anyone; this site does not read personality off a single stem.
This is a lookup, not a judgement — it falls straight out of the element relation and the yin/yang match, and the table below is generated by the same function the chart calculator uses. Where the Day Master has its own essay, the name links to it.
